Boho in the city, part II

Desde que comencé el blog, solo he tenido clara una cosa: la moda es como el sexo. Cuando todavía no se tiene una vida sexual activa o se comienza con alguien nuevo, distinto, una vislumbra en su mente un abanico de cosas que "nunca haría" (aquí podéis dejar volar vuestra imaginación). Sin embargo, cuando va avanzando la relación, se va cediendo y tarde o temprano se sobrepasan esos límites que tan claros se tenían. ¿Por qué? Sencillamente porque la mente del ser humano parece que está hecha para desensibilizarse "cuanto más ve". 

Con la moda sucede lo mismo. Cuando nacen algunas tendencias, como los ugly shoes que podéis ver en esta sesión, nos sentimos verdaderamente horrorizadas. Pensamos: "¡Los diseñadores han perdido el juicio!". No obstante, cuantos más looks vemos y más ideas vamos tomando, esas modas dejan de ser tan horribles e, incluso, pasan a ser nuestras tendencias favoritas. Véanse claros ejemplos como el paso de los pantalones campana al pitillo, la época dorada de las "chaquetas toreras" en torno a 2005 y un largo ETC.

Since I started with the blog, there was one thing that seemed pretty clear to me: fashion is like sex. When you don't run an active sexual life yet, or you start seeing someone new, different, there is a bunch of things you think you would never "try" (you can let your imagination run free here). However, as the relationship goes on, you start removing those walls sooner o later, and those boundaries tend to disappear. Why? Simply because our mind seems to get better used to what is different the more we get in contact with it.

The same happens in fashion: when some trends are born, such as the ugly shoes one that you can see in this photoshoot, we feel truly horrified. We think that the designers must be out of their minds. However, when we start seeing more people wearing them, outfits that seem to look fine, that trend doesn't feel that horrible anymore. Sometimes it becomes one of our favorites. Some examples: when we went from all bell-bottomed pants to skinny jeans, the "Golden Era" of the cropped jackets around 2005 and so on.
